The Endoscopy Center of Colorado Springs, LLC, recently received a national quality award from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) for excellence in our program of reporting pathology (biopsy results) back to patients and referring physicians. Our center directors Monica Clayton and Sharon Campbell received the award and national recognition at a recent meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada.
You can read the release from the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) here.
This award highlights our commitment to quality health care with excellent communication to patients and doctors. We feel it is a given that patients take away from their endoscopic experience a thorough understanding of findings and timely access to biopsy results. We are also quite proud of our managers and their clinical expertise.
PENROSE HOSPITAL RANKS #1 IN GI MEDICINE IN COLORADO - 2008, 2009
In a recent press release in the Gazette, Penrose Hospital was recognized as providing the top GI care in the state of Colorado for 2008. Penrose won the award again in 2009. This is according to HealthGrades, an independent company who gathers mortality and complications data on dozens on health conditions and illnesses.
Penrose had previously been recognized by HealthGrades as the only Colorado hospital to make it among America's 50 Best Hospitals. In addition to the current recognition in GI medicine, Penrose also ranked #1 in Critical Care Medicine.
We are proud to continue our exclusive relationship with Penrose and Centura Health, as we only provide inpatient care at Penrose Hospital and the new St. Francis Medical Center.
We also proudly point out that our six physicians represent nearly 70% of the GI staff who were instrumental in helping Penrose achieve the #1 ranking. We believe we provide, at Associates in Gastroenterology, some of the best GI care in the state, and we have the recognition and ranking to back that belief up.
